This is Munchkin. He was a stray kitten that came running up to me when I stopped to move a dog casualty out of the road in a rural and wooded area. Some people were feeding him but said he lived under a trailer; all the dogs were chasing him, and that there were "cat-rabbit" mixes in the area. They were quite serious about the last item and that was enough for me. Three mornings later, I awoke to the sound of Munchkin's painful, labored breathing. I rushed him to the emergency vet an hour away. His gums were blue and he was barely conscious. The vet put him in a bird incubator with oxygen, later diagnosing him with KITTY ASTHMA. A shot of cortisone saved his life, and he is now the happy, healthy guy that you see here.
